Owner of Rapiest, Trashiest Bowling Alley in Lincoln Turns Out to Maybe Not Be the Best Dude

Lincoln NE (SN) – Lincoln Police Department and the Lincoln city health department faced a showdown over the weekend with Benjamin Madsen, owner of Madsen’s Bowling and Billiards.

The drama ensued followed a closure order of the bowling alley after health officials reported “flagrant violations, including staff and customers not wearing face masks,” a requirement mandated by Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird in light of Lancaster County’s pandemic responses.

Friday morning, Benjamin Madsen raced to the establishment, removing all health department postings on the property and opening business-as-usual.

“They absolutely have to silence me because I am the one standing against their tyranny, but they will not defeat me, for god is on my side,” Madsen said while staring into his cell phone while driving on a live Facebook post.

This business remained open on Friday evening, with reports of more mask violations, minimal social distancing, and the owner saying on records that masks are “a scam.” Smell Nebraska reporters spoke to a heavily intoxicated patron leaving the property completely barefoot.

“Great place to do blow on a Saturday evening… excellent place to do blow and get away with it.” he said. “Love this place!”

LPD arrived early Saturday morning to enforce a closure of the business, and after another argument with Madsen, who left around noon, the business remained closed.
