It’s Friday, Friday Gotta Get Down On Friday! (That’s a Rebecca Black reference for you old fogies.) The Friday Night Lincoln Exposed lineup was shaping up to be the best night of the festival (no offense to Root Marm Chicken Farm Jug Band.)
With bands like Tragic Jack, Comander Kilroy, Will Hutchinson, Night Push, Frailin Hearts, Pure Brown, The Rewind, Red Cities, The Killigans, and Big Daddy Caleb and The Chargers, my Lincoln Exposed Friday experience could be summed up in one word: Diarrhea.
I woke up with a little bit of it in my bed. Not sure if it was the undercooked Popeyes or the concussion from the previous night, but whatever caused it, it wasn’t pretty. I managed to crawl into the bathtub and took a bath real quick. That helped. The bath water seemed a little too warm and that’s when I started vomiting. Now I was in a bathtub full of vomit and diarrhea. I tried my best to stand up and shower off but my body was not helping. Finally, I called out to my mom and she helped me towel off and get into some clothes. Talk about being Lincoln Exposed!

At that point it was off to the hospital. They hooked me up to an IV since I couldn’t keep any fluids down. Well, as you all know, I hate needles and I fainted before they could even stick me with one. I woke up in a hospital bed with an IV, a catheter, and one of those nose air things you see on tv. Wasn’t feeling too great. Great news though! They cut off my Lincoln Exposed wrist band! Thanks Doc! Now how am I supposed to get into Lincoln Exposed?
I spent the next 12 hours passing in and out of consciousness. My mom was hanging out with me and she was watching the Winter Olympics opening ceremonies. If there is one thing you do not want to see while recovering from food poisoning and a concussion is the Winter Olympic opening ceremonies. I’ve never done drugs before, but I imagine it was like having a bad trip. I kept hitting the morphine button but it didn’t seem to help. I’m not sure if it was actually a morphine button or not. I may have just been adjusting the bed over and over. Not really sure what was happening at that point. Long story short, I had to stay overnight for observation. Anyway, here’s hoping to check out the bands on Saturday Night. See you there!
